I doubt the locals in the vicinity had anything against a 7 year old, but you need to realize that your DAD was an agitator to say the least!

It's his burden that you carry...

What's wrong,Greek bum boy??? Afraid of the truth????

Let's see you face the truth dude...

My family lived just 12 miles east from the capital (Nicosia) yet we didn’t even know what a bloody gun looked like, yet there was your family in a remote community of 10 shacks somewhere up the Paphos mountains (I can’t even call that thing "Istinjio" a village!) with ranks like “Regional Commander” and a weapons cache for a house! WTF!

What kind of criminal thugs was your family anyway??? :?

Are you related to the Hassanboulli clan by any chance?

This is the second time I am telling you...we were not anywhere near Istinjo during 1955-59...We were in Yialia,a major TC village surrounded by GCs...You didn't know what a gun looked like because you were in no danger of being overrun by a rabid majority hell bent on wiping you from the face of the earth...Are you drunk most of the time,or just plain thick????

The more I look into this the more I realize that the protagonists were all these remote peasants suffering from the little man syndrome!

Is it any wonder why these days I loath peasants and the uneducated in general?

They’re always the trouble makers! :?

You are the mouthpiece for all the resentment, delusions and paranoid fantasies that have brought the Turkish Cypriots into their current state of penury, corruption and near extinction.

A few are waking up from their deep sleep. But you are still in a coma, I'm afraid.

 Thank you for proving what I said.

The responsibilities of TCs I am talking about starts from 1950s. The Ottoman oppression ended 70 years earlier, but we don't even need to go to that time.

Just 7 decades after the end of Ottoman rule the TCs yet again collaborated with the foreign Imperialists, attacked and murdered innocent Cypriot people, burned down shops and homes of innocent Cypriots and demanded the extermination of the Greek Cypriots from half of their homeland. They then helped the Imperialists to blackmail the Cypriot people and impose on us a system where the population of Cyprus would be again divided as it was during the Ottoman times, so the Muslim/Turks can again have privileges on the expense of the majority of the population. And when the president of Cyprus proposed democratic reforms to this foreign imposed system, your community refused to even consider the proposals and they choose conflict instead, during which they murdered yet more innocent Greek Cypriots (and not only, they even attacked Armenian Cypriots). And when Turkey invaded in 1974, TCs were happy that their plan for our ethnic cleansing as declared since the 1950s was becoming a reality, and they helped the Turkish army to murder 1000s and ethnically cleanse 100s of thousands of innocent Cypriot people. And since then and until today, the TCs are happy to illegally occupy our lands, selling our properties to foreigners, changing the names of our villages and trying to destroy our Cultural heritage.

And then you say that TCs have nothing to apologize for? The TC are "innocent victims of historical events they had no control over" as much as GCs are. Funny how you hold responsible the whole GC community for crimes that some GCs committed, but at the same time you refuse any responsibility for your own community for the far worst crimes that were committed by your side.

Even worst, you, personally, today continue to support crimes and illegalities against 100s of thousands of innocent people.

On the other hand, not only I condemned the crimes of the GC side against TCs in the past, but I am also willing to forgive the TCs for the crimes they committed against GCs, and I support that all Cypriots should have their human and democratic rights, without looking in the past for lame excuses.

I am not trying to justify anything...I am trying to get it into your skull that the TCs had no control over any of the historical events which resulted in the present mess...We had no control over your Enosis madness, and once that genie was out of the bottle the rest just had to follow, like night and day...Now my saying that does not mean I approve all or any of the events which followed...I am just telling you what I consider to be incontestable facts...You made your bed,you lay in it,and now you blame the TCs for it...Wake up,grow up,wise up,stop being so bloody stubborn and thick headed...And I might think you are a human being and not a robot programmed to spew out GC state propaganda...

TCs had as much control as GCs did. If we were "in control" then we would have managed to get what we wanted. Neither TCs nor GCs were in control of the situation. But everybody is responsible for his own actions, and TCs are responsible for the crimes they committed from the 1950s until today.

And no, we didn't "make our bed". Some foreigners made it, and you helped them to do so. It is our "bed", and after centuries of oppression by foreigners, we should have been allowed to make it as we want. It is you who should apologize for siding with foreign Imperialists to prevent this from happening, and causing even more problems to Cyprus in the process.

Do you think the eoka bastards who ATtacked tcs learned lessons from them? Crete is the template of what would have happened to the tcs if we didn't fight back- but we did and we are still here unlike (unfortunately) the Cretan Turkish population. But you fascist don't like that do you?

It is the TCs who collaborated with the Colonialists and attacked EOKA and the GCs. You are the ones who started the conflict and demanded our extermination from half of our island since the 50s. We only responded to your aggression, and this is a historical fact.

What happened to the Turks in Crete is what happened to far more Greeks in Asia Minor. Don't try to play the innocent victim when the Turks are the ones responsible for genocides of millions.

DTA,
Piratis is a robot...He is not human...He is programmed to come out with pre determined answers to all posts...His intelligence is artificial,he is not capable of emotions...He will never consider anything you say,or let any doubt seep into his computer head...According to his programmers, the GCs were always right,TCs always wrong. The GCs did everything with the best of intentions, the TCs the worst..The GCs suffered the most and for longest,so the bot can dismiss the TC pain and suffering..Sometimes I wonder why we even bother to reply to him...We must be massachists! :)

A serious Piratis Malfunction. That is serious.

Do you have any spare ribs/oops spare chips/cpu's for him yegen?

Egypt is not the same case at all. What you are talking about is a war, not struggle for decolonization. The equaivalent would be if Cyprus had a population of 60 million people and an army of proportional size to this population, and we military took back the British bases. That would be a totally different thing.

So I repeat: It would be not difficult at all for the British to divide the population based on religious and linguistic differences, even if independence was the aim. They would simply offer to the TCs gains on the expense of the majority of the population, and the TCs would gladly accept these gains and side with the colonialists. And in that case the result would be even worst for us, since not only there would be division anyway, but the balance of power will worst for us since we wouldn't have Greece on our side.

Could some other minority in some other country act in a different way? Maybe. But this is the TCs we are talking about. The people who are always happy to accept privileges and gains on the expense of the rest of the population.

Egypt didn't take Suez back through military means. Don't forget that Egypt was actually more like defeated on the military field during Suez War. If there was a significant portion of population around the Suez Canal supporting its control by the Brits, things might be different today.

As I said many times, Brits would certainly try to divide the Cypriot population, the one way or another. But instead of accepting the division in the way they wanted, we could at least try to fight against it. I believe there were good chances for winning big parts of TCs for the goal of an independence, provided that their participation in power in the new state would be secured. TCs are normal people and no different than them.

Similarly an even bigger part of the Greek community in Asia Minor fled before the population exchange.

What didn't happen to the Turks that remained in Greece is that they didn't become "casualties" and all the other exaggerations that TCs use to excuse their crimes in Cyprus. Compared to how Turkey treated the Greeks under her control (in Turkey and north Cyprus) the Turks in Greece were in a far far better position, and they would have been in an even better one if Turkey was not so aggressive against the Greek populations (Greece did not respond in kind to the Turkish aggression).

Also, the TCs in Cyprus today are less than what they were in 1960 or 1974. If Cyprus was united with Greece without any conflict between GCs and TCs, then not only TCs would not become "casualties" but on the contrary their population would be more than what it is today.

How does the treatment of Greeks in Turkey make the bad treatment of Muslims in Greece any better? Even if we assumed that the greek state oppressed its Muslim population just for the sake of taking revenge (and it's not like that, there are much more serious reasons than this), doesn't this mean that something like that could happen to TCs as well in case of Enosis? That they would have to suffer from oppression, whenever Turkey oppressed its greek population, something which wouldn't depend on them and on which they could have no influence? How do you expect the TCs accepting that?
