BICOMMUNAL MASS RALLY FOR THE DEMILITARISATION OF NICOSIA

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Of course Halil, there is no other way about it.

Turkish army to stay until GCs can be trusted. These violent people have the potential to murder.

This also means that the armed forces of the two sides have the most proximity to each other in Nicosia. This is the only area where most of the time, in some spots, 18 year old kids are on duty, seeing each other across a road on the dividing line.

That’s why the demilitarisation of Nicosia would be the first and an important step for the demilitarisation of the whole island. The demilitarisation of Nicosia would start the process of reuniting the city first, and then the whole island. Beyond the value it has in itself as a peace and reconciliation step, the demilitarisation of Nicosia could also bring a new push towards the existing negotiation process for the solution. The demilitarisation of Nicosia could be the first concrete measure where the ‘impossibles’ could be turned into ‘possibilities’…

In parallel, opening one more crossing point in the eastern side of the city, where there is currently none, could also in its turn contribute significantly to the building of trust among the communities. The beneficial results of the opening of the Ledras Street – Lokmaci check point for rapprochement and for our city in general, are now obvious to everybody.

It will never happen Bananiot… you’re day dreaming because the capital is paramount in every country! Capture the capital and you’ve taken the country! Don’t you know that?

Your demonstration is both dumb and a complete waste of time!

It works both ways GR. What if the GCs capture north of the green pencilled line.

Nicosia is the home of the Police HQ, the National Guard HQ, the presidential palace, the archbishopric, all government ministries, all embassies and consulates, the state TV/Radio station, the central bank, the stock exchange, the Cyprus museum, and so forth… so there is no way in the world that it can be willingly demilitarized.

We don't need your trust, the TA can stay until we eliminate it.

how can we gain trust of them by slogans such as ADABIZIM...............of course trust applies for the GC as well. how we can trust them .......by looking with some posters ideas it is not possible but still we can start from somewhere. First of all on the boarders of the Nicosia only Tc's security forces stationed. There is no soldiers from Turkey.

we must open more gates...must be more contacts between both sides. more understanding each others, will help to find common ways to live together. other wise only choice will be division forever. Both sides must think more than twice.

If 'Adabizim' is Cypriot, then he has every right to say this island is ours. If he is Turkish , then that is a different matter.
