Btw, now that Turkey has blown it don’t be surprised if Egypt is offered to become the EU’s goods factory provided the EU controls Egyptian leadership.

This time next year, VP will have to show up at the RoC ministry of defense to do his National Guard service! Image

... Because Erdogan is threatening the protesters, and that flies in the face of what she and the EU believe in. Such behavior is characteristic of why Turkey's ascension is tenuous. Why would she fear pissing them off? What does she have to lose?

If Turkey's western prospectives are shut down completely then the fundementalist muslim majority will force the country eastward and possibly an Iranian model based on Islamic law...

She's not "shutting them down completely" by criticizing a repeated self-precluding behavior to ascension. I would like nothing more than to see Turkey in the E.U., but her leaders fail to value a few basic European tenets. I don't believe her people, on the other hand, especially those with a European mindset, are looking to the East. The majority want progress.
