Actually ancient Sparta in its own time was more important than Cyprus will ever be. I would fully support a truly independent Cyprus, however Cyprus is way too small (and in a strategic location) to be truly independent.

Therefore it is better to choose to unite with those with whom we have something in common (or a lot in common in the case of the other Greeks), rather than be left alone and ruled by those who have no respect to democracy, our human rights or any of the other values which are important to us. This is why we united with EU. We didn't "give" Cyprus to EU, we united with EU because we believe that this will serve our own interests. The same would be the case if we united with the rest of Greece in the 50s, as it happened with all other Greek islands.

Now is a good time to tell everyone where you’ve had your primary and secondary education if not a government run Gymnasium funded by Greece via Cyprus’ education ministry! Image

Right, so you want to live under bankrupt Slavic gypsies because you fear bigger countries?

well, well, well. at the risk of winding all the others up (which we do with relish), it seems us "none-of-the-abovers" rule the roost. woohoo!

If I had my secondary education anywhere else, then Cyprus wouldn't even be mentioned.

If you had any education beyond primary and secondary in any decent university in any country in the world then your university would have a department offering courses about the Greek civilization.

Where did I say anything about wanting to live under "bankrupt Slavic gypsies"? Are you having illusions?

Come on Piratis… you’re the classic product of Greece-sponsored gymnasiums!

The brainwashing they inflicted on you for 12 years (6 primary + 6 secondary) is COMPLETE and IRREVERSIBLE!

I am a Greek, living on a Greek island and received Greek education. What more natural than this? For university I went aboard, and one of the courses I took was about ancient Greece. Nothing taught in that course was contradictory to what I already knew. On the contrary it went in far more detail.

The problem is not with me, but with you. From what I understand you grew up abroad, and this might have something to do with the identity crisis that you are having.

You belong in Greece not Cyprus which is another country.
