I think that more people are racist than care to admit it. People are mostly racist because they are afraid. Afraid of losing their identity, their economic position, their religion or culture. Having been around a bit in other countries, I don't think that Cyprus is any more racist than anywhere else. The only country that I was made to feel unwelcome in was France. Having said that, we tend to get back what we give out and I have never been a Francophile.

Being a foreigner and having lived in Cyprus for over 21 years now I find your subject quite ridiculous. I was welcomed on the island and now feel very patriotic to Cyprus. Yes I have been discriminated against, but I have been welcomed and befriended by many. I am guilty myself of discrimination. Everyone is. I do however, find your comment offensive and false. What's to debate about?

you are a visitor to cyprus i am a cypriot dont confuse hospitality with the mindset of the people who practice racism wherever they go and iam not talking about racism about other nation or people that comes secondary i am talking about being racist to their own people the cypriots

First off I am not a visitor here. This is my home. And if you are refering to the attitude of the Turkish and Greek coimmunities then I would hardly call this racist. There is certainly a lot of hatred between the communities, but this has more to do with the invasion and continued occupation of the island by Turkey and not much to do with racism. You should really clarify what it is you are saying. Please give us some examples of the racism that you speak of.

yes were all agreed - Cyprus has some racists in it - however every other country in world has racists - some people probably even loathe people from the next village simply because they are from the next village, not because the person is in fact a smelly theiving git! Read Clochmerle - Racism is just that writ large. It all to do with Group identity There is however NO EVIDENCE to support the proposition Cyprus is the most racist place in the World.

the reason wh you proberbly dont understand it might have something to do with your age that you might be yaung, another reason why you cannot understand even given your age to be mature is the fact that you are tunned visioned in your perception and digestion of thoughts,
