Can I also run outlook on it, complete with 5yr worth of emails?
I run 5 e-mail addresses on the ipad, many thousands no problem.
You have to see the ipad as an additional machine to your main computer, phone, ipod etc.
It does not pretend to be a full blown desktop machine but is fantastic for using around the house as it is so light and portable.
As long as you have a decent wi-fi connection you will love it. Ideal for 'vegging out' in the lounge or in bed. has a great battery life, only need to charge overnight after heavy use.
I download and read the Times every morning, including the ST for £8 a month saving a fortune on the printed paper.
If you have a wi-fi printer you are able to print from anywhere in the house.
There are many great apps, lots free and others for a small amount. It is easy to try an app with little or no financial outlay.
We have just bought a 3rd family ipad even though the ipad2 is out next week.
It is a fantastic machine if you take it for what it is.
My advice - get one!
