Good evening - as it is OK to say good Morning in the afternoon I will say good evening here - and it was a pleasent evening - had Roasted Chicken for dinner and nice glass of English beer - then watched Jeeeves and Wooster on TV - gentle English Humour by two great performers, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie.

Even though I am a Stephen Fry fan, they are not as good as Dennis Price and Ian Carmichael. They were classic. Re-makes are never better as the originals.IMHO.

Respectfully

Nota Bene

The only draw back of the olde one was that is was in black and white. I suppose you are too young to remember black and right.

Deniz, We got our first TV in about 1960 - it had something like 10 inch Screen: then we got what I think was 20 inch 405 line TV, so yes I recall Black and white. - 1.30 Watch with Mother, including Andy Pandy, Bill and Ben and the Wooden tops, also early Blue Peter with Christopher Trace and Valerie Singleton. Also early Dr Who (from behind the settee)

I can just about recall the Dennis Price-Ian Carmichael version but sadly not well enough to make any objective comparison between the two versions: however with Ian Carmichael in it it would have been good. I can better recall Ian Carmichael as Lord Peter Wimsey. Excellent

But Dennis Price was out of this world as the old faithful butler. Carmichael looked the part as well as doing a good job of a mummy's boy.

Ofcourse I had no clue how old you were/are.
