Is a T-Cypriot/Turkish Federation of N. Cyprus looming?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Is a T-Cypriot/Turkish Federation of N. Cyprus looming?

Note: Aristophanes [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristophanes ] along with Diogenes (the Cynic) [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynicism ] instructed me to write this!

The "trnc" is facing social tensions between its 65% tCypriot population and its 35% "legalized" illegal settler population [i am ignoring the illegal-illegals for now]!

I have two suggestions for tCypriots (with loads of affection and admittedly a wicked smile on my face):

First, they can try to work out a BBF (Bi-zonal, Bi-communal Federation) new "trnc", to be called TCTFNC or Turkish Cypriot - Turkish Federation of Northern Cyprus] with equality defined as tCypriots understand it, between the majority community of tCypriots and the minority community of LITSs or Legalized Illegals Turkish Settlers.

Subsequently, and once all is up and running smoothly, tCypriots can come to us gCypriots vastly wiser, and together we can emulate it for unifying the entire island between its RoC majority and TCTFNC minority.

tCypriots, the majority community of "trnc" can alternatively offer the LITS minority community the rights that tCypriots feel they deserve from the 1960 constitution. As soon as they feel confident that it runs without difficulties then tCypriots can confidently invite gCypriots to immediately return to 1960.

My personal view is that tCypriots will come out hugely wiser if they entertain either of the above recommendations, and with a far more profound understanding of how a majority community feels. Who knows, they may even determine conclusively that Karpaz donkeys don't fly & and that the rumor that enabling technology is being developed over in Ankara is nothing but a modern day myth promoted by the very real Ergenekon/TSK propaganda machine!

antifon , Where did you get the 65/35% ratio in favour of TCs???

I think even the most vociferous TCs would argue that it is probably nearer the opposite, at the very least TCs are now the minority of the population in the north.

Good point RichardB. Let's call it story teller's latitude. I had Aristophane's ok prior to committing to the numbers :)

Did you enjoy the story's spin?
