Erdogan furious at TCs

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Hermes » Wed Feb 09, 2011 3:36 am

Erdogan on the protests in Egypt:

"The duty of governments is to listen to what their people say.”

Erdogan on the protests in the north:

"They do not have the right to carry out such a protest action against Turkey."

Erdogan's comments didn't go far enough according to minister Caglayan.

From Zaman...

" State Minister Zafer Çağlayan has said anti-Turkey placards and chanting during a recent rally in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) organized by groups that want Turkey to pull its troops off the island were unacceptable, adding that Erdoğan's remark that the Turkish part of the island was feeding off of Turkish funds was true and even incomplete.

Speaking to journalists during a breakfast meeting of the Diplomacy Correspondents' Association (DMD), Çağlayan shared his opinions on a number of recent developments in Turkey. He said on the KKTC issue, anybody in Erdoğan's shoes would have shown the same reaction. “He hasn't said nearly enough,” Çağlayan said. "

Some of you boys and girls have really pussed some in Turkey.

All these years T/Cs have been content to receive salaries paid for by Turkey while desecrating our land, exploiting our properties and not raising a finger in protest at the barbarism of the occupation which Turkey enforces in their name. Now they demand that Turkey keeps them in the lifestyle to which they have been accustomed so that things can presumably go on as before.

If Erdogan is furious at the T/Cs and thinks they are a bunch of ungrateful parasites, then he is coming round to our way of thinking. Yes, Mr. Erdogan, you are right. All the T/Cs want is to take and give nothing in return. They are your children and you raised them this way. You taught them to be lazy and that Turkey would feed and maintain them because they were your special cause. Now you tell them to stand on their own feet and suddenly they turn on you.

If I were you, I'd crack down hard on these ungrateful bastards. Show them who's boss and make sure they don't ever dare question Turkey's right to do as it damn well pleases in the north. Enough of this pussy-footing around. Show them just how angry you really are. Teach them a lesson they won't forget. Teach them that they are nothing and that Turkey is their true lord and master. They seem to have forgotten.

It is a matter of pride. It will be this 'pride' that will be our undoing.

Let there be no doubt about what Erdogan said: T/Cs are Turkey's "servants" and Turkey is an occupying power. Not that this is news to most of us. It's just that he wasn't supposed to undermine 35 years of Turkish propaganda in saying it:

A columnist for Turkish Cypriot paper Havadis called on Erdogan to do two things: take back the “insulting” use of the word “servants” to describe Turkish Cypriots, and immediately deny that he said Turkey had strategic interests in Cyprus as this makes Turkey look like an occupation army.
