Gone are the days when Denktash - while in power - would dismiss opposition criticism of unchecked settler influx, compounded by Turkish Cypriots departing, in his typically offhand manner: “one Turk goes, another comes”. Now both he and his son Serdar reiterate ‘enough is enough’ with Ankara’s Cyprus policies.

The T/Cs need to look across the sea to Egypt for inspiration.

The tCypriots also need to be realistic. The best we can offer is 1963, with all the repercussions of 1974 reversed to the maximum extent possible! Certainly no recognition of any dividing lines. Only if they promise that we will together fight for the right of Kurds to achieve within RoT as much as they will have in RoC!

Do you think the Turkish police and army is going to imprison and massacre the community it claimed it invaded Cyprus to "protect"? Good luck!

Hermes, you should not mind me saying so but your postscript reads very lame "I would like to have my property back because it is my human right..."

Are you asking nicely? Oh, will you please, pretty please, respect my human rights?

Be honest man! Let them [Turkeyish] know the truth! Let them know how unethical it is for them to hang on to your home. Our homes & properties will ALWAYS be our properties. tCypriots can occupy them until Turkomainlanders get the f... out!

We demand our lives back! We demand our towns back! We demand our churches back! We demand our graves back! We demand you get the hell out of our homes! The more you refuse me enjoying my human rights the more you prove the fascism in your thinking. In my mind you are no different than plain thieves!

We DEMAND! Not kindly ask. See the difference? Whose toes are you afraid to step on! The Ergenekon/TSK scum?

Those are the words of Meletis Apostolides who took the Orams to court and in his own understated way reminded us that the property issue is a question of the usurpation of human rights. Rights which are non-negotiable.

So? He won the case (BRAVO!) and that makes everything he said gospel like? Respect of human rights does not come under the 'I would like you to' exhortations but rather in the 'I expect you do what the hell you have to do to respect my human righst!' ones!

I am angry how fascism and world politics have made us accept a certain way of capitulative thinking! Whether we can enforce justice or not does not mean we must not always demand the respect of human rights.

I honestly do apologize for the clumsy way of trying to get my point across.

I meant, INVASION Mk II would not be necessary.

I don't think any Greek Cypriot is asking the Turks to do him a kindness. Neither do I think that Turkey will withdraw from Cyprus in consideration of our human rights. Turkey will leave Cyprus when it is forced to do so or when it is no longer in its interests to occupy our land.

Turkish Cypriot protesters can still demonstrate that Turkey's occupation is against their interests. It undermines Turkey's stated reason for being on the island - that they came to "protect" Turkish Cypriots.
