How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

EDON Picnic Invitation to T/C

Postby All4114All » Sun Feb 06, 2011 8:45 pm

I must say I enjoyed my day it was a great atmosphere. The only two issues I had on the day was being escorted by police to the venue which makes you feel tensions are still volatile and noticing EOKA erected into a hill side on our way to Trodos unfortunately I could not see the village name to tell you on it's exact location. But overall great day.

To be honest bill I didn't see or notice any signs exactly where we were, but the name Paliorotissa sounds maybe right as I did see signs indicating that name only 2km away.

Basically the picnic gathering was organised by EDON members inviting groups of Turkish Cypriot political groups who have the same view unifying cyprus i.e CTP, TDP... excluding UBP and DP. I don't personally have any affiliation with any political parties but invited myself to join friends.

There were speeches by party leaders and greek and turkish musicians to entertain and food. The speeches as you would work out was about unifying cyprus bringing the two communties closer.

Sounds and looks like it was a good day... and a worthy cause.

If I remember rightly the site is just above the village of Amiandos... (hope have got that right)
