So if it's only strategic interests the end result could be "F... all Cypriots, give us what the UK has, a viable base, and we'll leave you to it" Would that be acceptable to GCs? Would TCs be willing to live as a minority in the remaining 98% of the island? Would the GCs punish returning TCs as "repayment" for the last 36 years by persuading them to leave?
