The forum is under-moderated in my opinion as I have mentioned before... Most recently herefor instance...

Lana can't hope to keep an eye on every single post or poster here on her own and seems to have few moderating powers...

Consequently a few posters have dominated the board and driven others (including me ) away... In fact, anybody that doesn't believe that Cyprus is perfect, that Turks are evil, that all the Brits should leave or that Cyprus doesn't need British tourists are made unwelcome...

That doesn't make for a very friendly 'General Chat' board and it isn't surprising that anybody considering moving or holidaying to Cyprus doesn't bother posting questions in 'Cyprus Tourism'.

This used to be a great place to chat about Cyprus, to debate with other members, for newbies to ask questions and for those that live here and love Cyprus to swap news and information.

It really isn't unreasonable for those that live here and love Cyprus (or even those that visit frequently) to criticise those parts of it that are not only unpleasant but damaging to the reputation of Cyprus and the tourism industry.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that many that post here know nothing of the 'Cyprus Problem' or care anything about it. After all, our political 'masters' have managed to ignore it for the past 36 years for their own reasons...

The last time I said this place was under-moderated I was told that we didn't need draconian moderation (which was never my intention). Well, as a result many good posters have continued to leave and we now have just that with posters banned from the forum and threads locked without reason or explanation.

I fear it will be some time before this place picks up again and starts to attract new people.

I have to agree with Grump. This site has become focused on the battle with the Turks. Almost every topic gets directed toward the Cyprus problem. Personally I hear enough about this issue and especially don't need to hear from the Turks how bad the Greeks are and vice versa. The propaganda rages on here and it becomes pointless. I never have been a big poster and probably probably never will be. There are a handful who dominate the pages here.

Well-said Grump. Couldn't agree more. Casual visitors to CF must have been really out off Cyprus by the squabbling Cypriots they have seen on here - I don't think they realise how much damage they do to the island's image.

CF will pick up, at least three infrequent posters turned up yesterday and I'm sure more will come back in the less intimidating/confrontational atmosphere. I’d like to see people like Copperline return.

Just my humble opinion...

Cyprus IS Perfect , just a few arseholes like those that think all Turks are evil , that all Brits ( including Charlies - the saviours of the Cypriot economy ) should leave Cyprus and that Cyprus does not need British tourists !!!
Almost forgo the other arseholes who think Cyprus's friends are the extremist Hamas , Hezbollah , Al Qaeda and other enemies of the western world. You can not silence these arseholes but you can tell them what arseholes they really are , not that they will take any notice but at least you give them something to think about.
Cyprus needs friends , influential friends , forget the crap that wants the destruction of the West , and praise the Brits for despite all the shit that they go through to buy a property from unscrupulous developers still come to Cyprus , and God help Cyprus's economy if the Brits do not return.
Finally , Cyprus needs to take seriously the lawlessness that surrounds our football stadiums , our roads .
Apart from that Cyprus IS PERFECT !

But they were not specific aresholes, anyway it could have been worse, Milti could have used the "P" word.
