As a Scot who has lived outside Scotland for many years I completely disagree with this statement. I have a much better understanding of Scotland's place in the UK, EU and world by living and travelling outside of my home country. It's good to get an outside perspective rather than being completely immersed only in narrow parochial views and disputes.

I'd wager that TCs who have lived for many years in free and democratic countries where international law is respected and followed, and where their individual votes are worth no more than those of any other individual voters, are embarrassed by, and cannot justify, the actions of Turks and TCs in Cyprus in holding on to the spoils of an illegal invasion by force. In fact, there may be a case that by listening to those in the diaspora, many of whom left Cyprus because of the 60s and 70s problems, the internal wranglings and intransigence of the ongoing negotiations could be given fresh impetus.

Hello do you know your own history and how many wars you fought and why the Scots still want independence for gods sake man you have your own parliament and money.

For your information I lived most of my life abroad and was educated in the UK and USA, so that blows your theory out of the water. Have you ever lived in any part of Cyprus north or south?

It is a wonder how these people get dressed on their own in the morning. A TC/GC? and a Scot, who tells us he is a Scot at every opportunity, telling us that identity does not matter. Maybe their success in offering little children sweats on dirty corners has gone to their heads
