If during the war that Turks started against us in 1974 some TCs were arrested this is not called "ethnic cleansing". The British and Americans did the same with many Germans, Italians and Japanese who were living in UK and USA during WWII. This is done as a precaution, as it is known that many of those people would support the enemy during the war.

None of those arrested by the police or army was harmed (unlike many GC prisoners who were never to be seen again) and they were released when cease fire was agreed.

Unfortunately the Turks did not obey the UN resolutions that called on them to respect the sovereignty of Cyprus and to withdraw their troops. If they did, then people would return to their own homes.

You are bull shitting again was there a concentration camp at Limasol or not???

It was the same thing in Limassol as it was in the UK and USA for the Germans and Japanese during WWII.

Turkey is the one who invaded us. You are the ones who in 1974 (as always) started to kill and ethnically cleanse us. Are you now going to blame us because in the war you started we took precautions to minimize casualties?

The question here is not if some TCs were arrested during the war. You were killing GCs by the 1000s and ethnically cleansing us by the 100s of thousands, and your problem is that we arrested some TCs???

The question was about ethnic cleansing. And Ethnic Cleansing has been your aim since the 50s, it was your aim with the invasion of 1974, and it continues to be your aim today since you insist that the ethnic cleansing should be legalized so you can have a "Turkish State" on land which until the ethnic cleansing you committed had a population which was 80% GC.

And you GCs were throwing roses at the TA, how many was it that you killed?

They invaded our country, bombed our cities, killed our people, raped under age girls, and in response we should have bee throwing roses?

But why are you trying to change the subject? Why don't you answer the question? Do you accept that all Cypriots should have the right to return to their homes?

How did they manage all this from the beaches of Girne???

I don't know what is this "Girne" you are talking about.

The turks invaded Cyprus and they did all that and more.

All hell broke loose when you killed thousands of Turkish soldiers on the beaches at Girne=Kyrenia (dont know the Greek name nor do I have to like you obviously do not know the Turkish ).

So I repeat: Don't try to blame the GCs for something which was and continues to be the Turkish aim: The separation of Cypriots by means of ethnic cleansing so they could in this way artificially create a territory with a majority of Turkish population and declare some "Turkish state" on the lands they stole from us.

No you have not answered my question at all.. This was not about being arrested, this was about being forced to leave there homes at gun point by GC army and this was post '74

So now can you answer the question?

They were arrested as a precution to the war started by Turkey and TCs against us, and since it was not a "house arrest", this meant that for the time they were arrested they wouldn't be in their home. After they were released they were free to return to their homes if they wanted, and they are free to do so today. Who doesn't allow this to happen is the Turkish side, which insists on the ethnic cleansing.

Why don't you and VP answer this: Do you agree that all Cypriots should have the right to return to their own homes?

Of course, restitution where possible and compensation where not but under a BBF with political equality as backed by the UN and EU.

So you want to have a "Turkish State" in Cyprus, on land that before the ethnic cleansing you committed in 1974 had a population that was over 80% Greek?

Yes, like you can have a "Greek state" in the 63% 20% of which is TC. Why not allow people the freedom or the right to choose which state they wish to reside in? why do you want to force a "Greek state" on everyone?

I have no problem with that. But in that case people will return to their homes and the majority of both states will be Greek as it has been before the ethnic cleansing you committed in Cyprus.

Do you accept this? Or it is time to stop hiding and admit that you are an ethnic cleansing supporter who wants to keep GCs out of their own lands so you can have some "Turkish State" on land that you stole from us?

They were given to your leadership so they can count them and ensure that nothing happened to them. We never said that they were not allowed to return back. On the contrary we always say that all Cypriots should return to their own homes. It is the Turkish side which insists on separation and division.

This I personally have no problem with but the balance of power has to be that TCs cannot be pushed to one side, we do not want any new versions of the Akritas plan, there has to be a structure that will not allow GC domination, plus a sound security guarantee in place that will take aciton if things should go wrong or GCs discriminate, try to buy out TCs (another type of ethnic cleansing) or try to take control of the whole island.

Come on you did far more than that, a Turkish officer was torn to shreds, it was after this act you unleashed the full force of the TA. If you has of used roses you GCs would all have been sitting pretty in your homes right now.

So they were taken from there homes at gun point and taken to Northern Cyprus

For their safety and that they could be counted? why not the british bases?

Seriously that is what you are claiming?

You claim they were arrested due to the invasion, so when were they taken from their homes?

DTA,

I think even you realise that you are wasting your breathe and time with this thread.

The TCs believed the Turkish invasion liberated them at the time.

Seeing as the dream has now turned into a nightmare for your community and to dismiss your predicament as some kind of GC ethnic cleansing is preposterous.

Look closely at Turkeys policy on the north before pointing the finger at us.

Turkey has done everything they can to obliterate you - some TCs will not accept this, but like one of the sheep you blame your impending on the GCs.

I dont know what you are getting at here. Whether Turkey came to rescue us or not, is not the question here.

The fact is that I recently found out that TCs were taken from their homes by the GC army post 74 and made to move to the North, the question is in what way was that different from the GCs being made to move south?

and you nor anyone else has been able to give me any kind of credible answer.

So please feel free to try.

I am aware of one person who refused to go to the north and wanted to stay in their home, but was not allowed so he came to London instead.
People at the time did not have a choice.
