Problem with laptop.....

Postby pretty-as-pink » Wed Feb 02, 2011 4:45 pm

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for someone to remotely gain access to a computer without your permission?
today my laptop has been opening new pages on its own, the shift key wouldnt work and when viewing pages it would just go back to the previous page!
I closed down the computer and re-started it in safe mode by pressing f5 several times.
I performed a system restore point to yesterday but before I did this and windows opened up there was an added user account!!
This is when I performed the system restore.
since doing this its been fine, I would just like to know if its possible for someone to remotely connect without my permission please.

I reckon this happens to me also.

Usually they only access my laptop after I have sunk a bottle of Cognac.

I know this happens because the next day posts appear under my name which I'm convinced I didnt post.

Hope this helps

Only if they have installed a special program on both computers, such as this…

…but even then your participation is required.

You most likely have one or more malware. To fix this:

Download, install, update, and scan with this:

Ok thank you.
I have changed my settings so automatic remote users cannot connect.
Will this be ok?

That's good but you should also do what I suggested above.

I recommend downloading and installing Malwarebytes regardless.

These are the problems you get when you spend all your time surfing porn sites. That is why GR knew how to fix it!
