Jews lie though. Why should we believe them?
if the bible is to be believed we are all descended from Noah.
Noah is the Jewish name for the Greek fella Deucalion.
The Noah story probably came out of Sumer as a retelling of the Gilgamesh epic which represents probably the oldest known written story, almost certainly predating the recording of the works of Homer by several hundred years. It probably entered Hebrew mythology during the Babylonian captivity around 650 BC when it would appear many of the earliest books of the Old testement were written in their current form.
The Deucalion myth might be related to this but I wonder if it is related to possible memories of a Tsunami event affecting what is now known as Greece following the Thera explosion. The Thera event co-incides with the rise of the Mycencean type civilisatation in Greece : in some versions of the Myth Deucalion's sone was the legendary Hellen, the mythical ancestor of the Hellenes who took control of Greece, supplanting supremacy of the Pelasgians, who likewise could have been affected by the Thera event. Indeed I understand that according to the myth the flood was to punish the Pelasgians. That is why I suspect the Deucalion/Hellen myth is related to to Thera rather being descended from the Gilgamesh/Noah Story.
