It looks like a well timed threat in view of today's talks.
In reality it's bullshit, how can the almost bankrupt "trnc" afford to fund these developments - it can't even pay the wages to its employees.
Same way as Kaya Artemis and Noah Ark Hotel was funded by Turkish investors. If Maras was open as we stand today for development it will attract foreign investment through Turkish companies. A win-win situation Turkey economy continues to grow while development is full steam ahead. With millions of dollars streaming from foreign investment they will do what is required for success in the area to contribute to their business.
Just think of it this way with lets say 20 foreign companies pouring millions and millions of dollars into the area do you think they will give a shit about G/C to stop development or will they care about the growth of their investment?
You are right in regards to TRNC cannot afford it but it will become apart of TRNC which will contribute to its economy.
In your mind you think that the average worker which earns a living and gets paid every month will spend every penny from his own pocket in developing Maras. We are not building a home we are constructing a city.
Personally I think if both communities work together for both to benefit from the area this will be grand.
