concering varosha i think its just a threat, turkey knows there will be world wide condemnation if the go ahead with that.
About bananoit kikapu ive said to him directly that he is either very naive or very dangerous.

Didn't your mama warn you about accepting "gifts" from strangers?

How can it become a gift if it already belongs to us Cypriots?

Ask Bananiot. He's the one who seems to think Turkey owns parts of Cyprus and is doing us a kindness to "give them back to us" - no strings attached.

It WAS 'offered' as part of a deal which was turned down. Where did that get the RoC? Some will think that it has been lost for ever. I hope not but my hopes have been dashed many a times.

Only a fool would believe that accepting back a tiny bit of our occupied areas would free the rest of our island. It would have sealed the "partition" and obliged us to relinquish the rest of our country.

Yes, you are correct Bananiot, that Turkey did "offer" Varosha back to the GCs and in returned, they would have taken the whole island back in time, had the AP was approved in 2004.
I don't mind you looking out for us TCs interests now and then, but I don't know why you want to look out for Turkey's interests. I don't. I only look out for all Cypriots interests.!

That may be your paranoia. One step at a time I would say. It would not be the end of negotiations. It is a matter of trust between the two parties. Take a bit here give a bit there, establish some trust - it can go a long way.
I knew the Annan plan would not be acceptsd by the majority of the islanders; I would not have either if I were in your shoes; but you have to win trust and and establish a stepping stone for further talks.
