Funny how these coward dictators fall ill soon after getting toppled so as not to stand trial!

Tunisia's ex-leader Ben Ali 'in coma' in Saudi hospital

Ousted Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali suffered a stroke and was "in a coma" in a Saudi hospital, a family friend said Thursday, as more details of corruption under his rule came to light.

 Scientists are struggling to understand the sudden endemic of “Toppled Coward Dictator’s Syndrome” (TCDS) sweeping Arab/Muslim countries!

Bahrain's king has ordered that each family in the tiny Gulf monarchy be given $3,000 to mark the 10th anniversary of a national charter for reforms, state news agency BNA said on Friday.

"On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the National Action Charter and as a sign of appreciation for the people of Bahrain who have approved it, King Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifa has ordered 1,000 dinars (3,000 dollars) to be paid to every Bahraini family," BNA reported.

It’s safe to predict that by the end of the month there will be fresh demonstrations in Bahrain, as everyone will have spent their bribe money and want more!

Bribing citizens seems to be catching on in the Arab/Muslim world...

Syria's poor receive cash aid from government

Damascus // Thousands of impoverished Syrians began receiving cash payments from a multimillion-dollar aid fund this week, as part of a government effort to tackle persistent high levels of poverty.

The step comes less than a month after heating fuel subsidies for two million public sector employees were unexpectedly raised by 72 per cent. The government had previously been in the process of cutting back subsidies, which it can ill afford to pay because of dwindling oil reserves.

And all the while, across the Middle East, we are waiting to see the downfall of America's friends. In Egypt, Mr Mubarak must be wondering where he flies to. In Lebanon, America's friends are collapsing. This is the end of the Democrats' world in the Arab Middle East. We do not know what comes next. Perhaps only history can answer this question.

We know a little more then that and i for one do not need to wait for history to answer it. We know that the powerful Egyptian military receives financing and equipment from the United States. For example...the Egyptian military has acquired f16s, m1a1 battle tanks, state of the art aerial surveillance aircraft and missile batteries...so much military equipment that i can not possibly name them all here. If there is a change in leadership in Egypt, that leader will probably need the nod of approval from the Egyptian military who is not going to let any box head take Mr Mubarak's seat. This is the Middle East after all. So, Egyptian relations with the US will always be fine. What is not certain is this...Egypt under Mr Mubarak was the first of our neighboring countries with whom the Republic of Cyprus concluded an agreement to determine their respective EEZs. Turkey has always asked Egypt to scrap that agreement stating back then that the sea area must be divided equitably between Turkey and Egypt. Right now, as we speak...we couldnt ask for better relations between Cyprus and Egypt. Will that still be the case under new Egyptian leadership? Or will there be change under the guise of muslim brotherhood? Only history can answer THAT question.

Turkey eyes Egypt alliance

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to sign military and economic cooperation agreements during a visit to Cairo next week as part of a strategic partnership agreement with Egypt.
