electricity authority of cyprus!!!!!!!!!!

CHECK YOUR BILLS PEOPLE........................

having just received my electricity bill i am disgusted to see that they have yet again increased it again from 200/m.t. to 300/m.t  ...

how can they do this at a time where we just had 5% added to foodstufs and medicines the cost of petrol going up yet again and who knows what else they have in store for us.

i did hear a rumour a few weeks ago they wanted to increase their prices but was told that parliament was up in arms over it so i assumed thats was the end of that.

i do understand that most people here in cyprus are rolling in money and wouldnt bat a eye at this increase.

what about the poor people that work for minimum pay? how do they keep warm in the winter, how do they survive on one wage which they have to work long hours for?

is there no ombudsman here in cyprus that can control these fat cats doing next to nothing for our money?

it seems so unjust, where will it end? they said that the 5% on foodstuffs and medicines will not affect the poor so why is it when i bought a bottle of gas before xmas it was 11.80 and now it is 12.70?

who are they trying to kid, it certainly doesnt affect the rich but it sure as hell does affect the poor in more ways then they could ever understand.

all thoughts and comments are welcome............

It is winter you know... heaters, air conditioners, hot water... etc!

Mine actually doubles in winter and should come to about €600!

i think you may have not understood what i was saying gr, they have increased their charges.........from 200/m.t to 300/m.t.

so your's now should be in at around 700+, make sure you are sitting down when you open it and then let us know if you are happy with it i am sure you wont be.

we are talking about a 100 euro increase not 5 or 10..........how dare they!!!!!!!

just a bunch of thieves as far as i am concerned......and i will make sure i tell them in every way possible.

I paid 13.50 for gas last week in Carrefour - won't be rushing back there - but I've just been to rush everywhere and I'll keep warm!

When I was in cy during the winter I invested in one of those KEROSENE heaters.
I dont recall what I paid for it but it wasnt alot and I got it from one of the electrical shops in paphos.
I had the air con unit for heating but it was way too expensive to run and the kerosene heater was a gem.
I would go to the service station and fill a can up and it would last ages, approx 200 euros a day to run and it would heat up the whole of downstairs!!! wonderful.
