I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is difficult to get nursing/midwifery posts in Cyprus?
I am a registered adult nurse and midwife (currently practising as a midwife in England) and me and my husband had considered moving to Cyprus. We got married in Protaras in Sept 2009 and fell in love with the place (have been back 3 times since). We are still just 'toying' with the idea really as I know living somewhere is very different from a holiday!
I just wanted to know if anyone has any info or experience on practising as a midwife or nurse on the Larnaca side of Cyprus. I dont know where I would start with looking for a job or even if this would be feasible given the language barriers!

Would be grateful for any info!

did you move to cyprus? i live in larnaca and looking for a midwife to assist a home (and hopefully) water birth. it's extremely hard and if i don't find one i'll just have an unassisted home birth and pray nothing goes wrong

I was just wondering if you still use this site? I'm training to be a midwife in the UK at the moment but have family out in Cyprus. Was wondering if you are hospital/community based or independent out there, i'm trying to organise an elective placement at the moment but unfortunately there is a bit of a language barrier in trying to get to grips with the healthcare system.

im new to this site however i came across this post which was interesting.. a little about myself
iam a newly qualified midwife in the uk my plan is to get my experience here for 1/2 years then as my partner is RAF we will be moving out to Cyprus
i was wondering what the current state midwifery is in over in cyprus? i mean are there jobs available in and around the area?
how much experience is needed before you can apply for overseas work?
