How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Its infuriating that everyday....people in Nicosia must view that monstrosity on the Pentadaktylos Mountain. What a sick joke.

Ssssshh Boys....

Frau Merkel would have seen that Stalinesque Grotesque a few days ago, on her way up to Nic, and it may have reminded her of her youth in the Stassi-controlled Total State that was the Former East Germany, where every day she would have seen Statues, Flags and Other Symbols that are really a reaction to insecurity and meant for internal consumption. So the Pac-men may even have tipped the balance in her mind and led her to say what she said.

Believe you me chaps that Defacement of the Pendatactylos is one of the the greatest assets on the side of the Free Areas. It really does send out messages of intransigence to the World. The rest of the World are thinking what Frau Merkel had the courage to say and pointing to the Pacmen.... There, there is where to lay the blame.

Would really like to see the Pacmen stay.

It seems to me that hypocrisy has no bounds , one deranged individual on this forum took it upon himself to condemn Israel on a daily basis , challenged only by a handful of forumers.
Our strength must be our ability to differentiate between what is beneficial to the interests of Cyprus and what is not. A clear support of Israels and the West's enemies is not conducive to the interests of this island as history has demonstrated .

Do I detect a "plonker" coming soon?

For almost 5 years I have been defending the right of Israel to exist , at the same time I fully supported the right
of the Palestinian people to their own state , but never once did I support Hamas , Hezbollah and all the other extremists who are the reason why peace is so far away from this troubled region.
Many of my Cypriot compatriots denigrated Israel and praised the terrorists of Hamas and Hezbollah , it made me wonder whether these Israel bashers had the interests of Cyprus at heart !
I will support any nation that best serves the interests of Cyprus , this is reality in politics , I only wish that way back in 1960 our naive political novices had the interests of Cyprus as their primary goal and not bloody Cuba , Chili pepper , Palestine and other totally useless to CYPRIOT INTERESTS causes .

Miltiades, I agree with you in everything you said in your statement, Unfortunately Greek cyps look to their political parties for guidance not only on who to vote for but also how to think. Its a relic of the old days when a speech by Makarios would bring a downpour of tears, which looking back on it today reminds me of what the North Koreans do today when one of their leaders dies.

When I first saw Mt Rushmore and met the Native Americans living under it, the first thing that came in my mind was that ugly flag on Pentadaktylos

That only happens in AKEL. everyone else is too suspicious of their "own" parties. DISY Diko and edek have lost that attachment to their supporters while evrodoko and the greens haven't been around long enough to cultivate it.

aKEL on the other hand that still requires it's members to pay in a percentage of their salary every month very much still controls the sheep it leads.

Having lived away from Cyprus since 1961 and naturally having not involved my self in local politics I can not draw comparisons between one party and another apart from what I experienced way back in the late 50s leading to my departure in 1961.I dont think that political attitudes have altered much in spite of all that has happened to our island. Back then each village had its DEXIA AND ARISTERA Kafenia / Sillogos.
Football teams were either DEXIA or ARISTERA , something unique to Cyprus I feel.
AKEL followers supported Russia and China , detested America and the West while the Right wing although mostly hated the USA were not Soviet friendly. I have never experienced recent politics at close hand but judging from Football teams followers being either left or right I dont think much has changed.
Strange that I recall each towns football teams at the time and remember which was left and which right. I supported Anorthosis so I was to the right , also would support Apollon against AEL and Apoel against Omonia purely and simply because they were right wing teams. How bizarre !!!
I now support whatever serves best the interests of Cyprus , if Russia did then I would support her and so on.

Almost exclusive I might add. Only a couple of teams in Italy and Germany I can think of and some in Eastern Europe

Right and left wing are just "democracy's" little tricks to keep the world isolated in fighting eachother instead of fighting against corruption and inaction...

Is there are source for this? I would like to bust the balls of the Akelist pseudo-progressive fags with such info.

It is a true fact.

AKEL members that are getting paid from the government (President, Ministers, members of Parliament, members of European Parliament, Mayors etc) give ALL of their salary back to AKEL. Then what happens is, AKEL distributes that money back to them. Their salary is from AKEL. A small guess would be that AKEL does not pay its members the exact amount.

AKEL also receives 100% of the pension of its members. There were incidents in the past where members were erased from the party as they didn't let the party get their money :D

Well, good luck with the invasion of Leros - it's the mental hospital island.
