US: NO linkage between exploration bid and peace talks

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Dream on. Natural gas will bring Cyprus and Israel into a close alliance. A natural gas pipeline from the Israeli fields to Cyprus would be the next logical step. Cyprus would become the vehicle for gas liquefaction and then exports of natural gas to the rest of Europe.

Cyprus is an EU member sitting next to one of the largest offshore natural gas fields ever. If you think that a gas-hungry Europe is going to allow Turkey to interfere with its gas supplies then you are more of a fool than I thought. Turkey can shout and scream all it wants but it can't do fuck all. This is Europe and Israel's business - and the T/Cs had better wise up fast or risk losing out again.

But analysts do not expect the Turkish warnings to escalate beyond rhetoric. James Ker-Lindsay, an expert on the region at the London School of Economics, said: "Turkey talks tough with Cyprus on this energy issue, but they've been told clearly by Brussels and Washington not to stir it up."

The Greek Cypriots insist they will press ahead with gas exploration, regardless of Turkish sabre-rattling. They foresee Cyprus playing a key role in a new regional energy equation involving Israel, Greece, and - in the event of a Cyprus settlement - Turkey.

From the same article:

"The European Union, which has suffered repeated gas supply scares because of disputes between Russia and Ukraine, is eyeing these developments with interest."

and

"The Republic of Cyprus is a sovereign nation with the right to request bids for oil exploration within its own economic zone," a US state department spokesman said. Brussels delivered an identical message."

This is just another example of why it is impossible to negotiate with Turkey and the TC puppet regime.

They want want partition and also believe they have a right to Oil and Gas reserves to the South of Cyprus between Cyprus and Israel!

How stupid can you get? :?

I cannot help but think that the EU had an idea that there would be natural resources in Cyprus' exclusive sea zones and chose their wording very carefully when they refer to the whole Island of Cyprus as being part of the EU, but does not have control over the occupied area. This will tie down any exploitation of these resources from Turkey and the TC regime.

The Cypro will not be solved unless the US says so. In the meantime the US will explore the sea around Cyprus have it needs met and the story will continue a stupid regime set up by a few hundret thousand people who don't get it that they have not been given recognition for the past 35 years and that this will not change for another 35 years at least.

The best thing the TC's can do now if they want to share the wealth is resume their seats in the Parliament and immediately and then work a way to bizonality by reducing the size of the trnc from the northeast to west so that Rizokarpaso and Yialousa fall within the GC zone.

How long do you think it will take the GCs to produce Akritas 2?

We are clever and educated enough to see the dangers and keep out of your greedy clutches until you realize that its a BBF with political equality or partition.
