can anyone advise me how i can java script a text link disjointed rollover, with in my page i have a text description and i wont to rollover the word sample menu and a jpg of a sample menu comes up in the middle of the page covering the descriptive text and returns on move off

Better if you do it with CSS instead of javascript:

But it is very easy to do it with javascript also. Even easier if you use a javascript framework like jquery which I would advice you to do if you have a lot of javascript in your page. Just search online for a tutorial on how to do it, there are tons of them.
