Absolutely Jerry, and we all know profligate shoppers like that am sure.

So a reminder please folks and folkesses that we live on a planet with limited resources and that really we have a duty of care for it and so really we should think a little less about such things as unethical fashions and make do and mend what we already have.

Pack it in with credit-card backed excessive consumerism....... pleeeeese.

Couldn't agree more Bill. The UK economy is based in the High Street not in the factories that we have too few of. I honestly don't know what makes our economy work. Most of the junk we buy these days is made overseas - that's fine if we can send them our junk but we don't make it anymore.

I have another relative with two children (no husband/partner) on £300+ social a week, free house and can afford to spend hundreds on kids presents at Christmas - she says she has to because it's what her friends do - the world has gone effing mad!

I too agree but you must have noticed that especially the younger generation of Cypriots are obsessed with designer clothing, jewellery and watches, shoes, handbags, beauty parlour gubbins and flashy expensive motorbikes and guzzling big cars?

You know - the new generation of modern european frappuchino drinking Cypriots?

That may be the woman's point of view, but not necessarily the man's.

Your above statement would defy logic for the man to buy a woman beautiful shoes, when you are already saying that shoes make the woman more happier than a man. Surely, if the man did not buy her beautiful shoes for her to be happy (shallow bitch ), the man then would not be replacing himself with a pair of beautiful shoes that he bought to make her more happy with the shoes than her with himself. That would be like scoring an own goal, wouldn't it and not "scoring" with her at all, and even if he did "score" with her, she would be thinking of her beautiful shoes more than him while going through the motions.

OK, it is true, that most guys don't care what motions the woman goes through while he is "scoring".!

im surprised you analyze every thing dont you

His brain is like a large dish of spagetti.

I think it's the same the world over Gasman. This rampant consumerism seems to be the main driver of economies everywhere. We are going to devour our planet for the sake of "fashion" Perhaps it's time the schools started to teach kids about the important things in life, they could make a start by pointing out the folly of buying on credit and the benefits of thrift.

Incredible isn't it?
35 years ago their country was torn into 2, the majority of the population became refugees in their own country.
And just look at them now 35 years later....

Even more so... They CONTRIBUTE more to the EU than what they RECEIVE!

You're right, they're a shining example of a bad example and should be shunned, how dare they!

Schools do teach thrift in their consumer science and microeconomics classes, and they could teach it ad nauseum, yet inevitably their little charges will do as their little charges' parents do. "The apple [typically] doesn't fall far from the tree" under such circumstances.

Anyway, back to shoes: Whereas "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, the way to a woman's heart is through chic shoes ... among other things. And I pay for my shoes with cash! :D
