How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The ROC will however have to ensure that as far as is possible Turkish speaking Cypriots who were forced to flee their homes in unoocupied areas in the period up to 1974 get their houses back too

The TCs were never 'forced' to flee their homes by the RoC
. They chose to go or were bribed/blackmailed by Turkey and fellow TCs.

Dream on Oracle. The evidence is there but you can't see it. Time will tell. Perhaps your escape clause is the use of the 'RoC'. They had no control over the paramilitaries, Sampsons forces, the police auxillaries and the 'organisation' all created from ex-EOKA people. Even the late Pres. T.Papadopoulos admitted that these elements were a loose cannon in attacking TC villages and even mixed villages and were also responsible for the kidnapping, hostage taking in the period 1963/1974. The evidence is there; seek and you shall find. Naturally, the TMT did take these dangers as being serious and helped the evacuations along.

NME .... Wow!

The Culture Club singer bought the icon, which was stolen from the church during the 1974 Turkish invasion, from a London art dealer in 1985 without knowing its origin.

Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis thanked the singer as he handed over the icon at the St Anagyre church in London. He added that George had "contributed to the efforts of the Church of Cyprus for the repatriation of its stolen spiritual treasures".

If there was ANY evidence (not fantasies) that the RoC forced TCs to flee, you would present it as a counter argument to quash the recorded consequences of the Turkish Invasion which killed/mutilated thousands of Greek Cypriots.

I wonder when he realised he was 'in possession' of stolen goods? Any ideas?

or did he one day decide to convert to the GO church and Papa-Georgios paid him a home visit? It is a serious question.

He was contacted after someone recognised the icon from a photograph/show and he was presented with the evidence from the rightful owners.

That's bullshit and you know it - tell it to the T/C's who were lynched in 1974- (I have talked to people who were here in 74 who saw strange fruit hanging from the trees) back in 63 one had the Acritas plan which Clerides said papadop wrote and, in other posts, the implied threats to wipe out the T/C's made by prominent politicians in discussions with foreign statesman ( I think in 1964 0r so) have been highlighted.

The attrocities against T/C were not as great in extent as those inflicted by the invading Turks, but don't deny they did not happen!

Aren't you fed up with scraping the bottom of the barrel? Time to retire from peddling this constructed and outworn, much-trashed fantasy.

The TCs were never forced to flee and the RoC has gone to great pains to conserve their homes for the long-awaited return to the normality which you destroyed.

Hey! Where is the "forced to flee" evidence? Did you see thousands of CNG massacring thousands of TCs?
