The European Court of Human Rights is for the first time looking into the Turkish Cypriots who went missing in Cyprus.
Up until now, the application of families of the missing Turkish Cypriots had not been accepted. Now due to a decision taken by the European Court of Human Rights, the Greek Cypriot Administration has to start an investigation into the missing Turkish Cypriot people.
The Greek Cypriot administration which fears violating orders given by the E.C.H.R. is now after 48 years investigating the whereabouts of the missing Turkish Cypriots.
Families of the 17 TC's whose remains were found during excavations works carried out by the Autonomous Missing Persons Committee in Cyprus had applied to the European Court of Human Rights.
7 of those 15 cases have started to be seen by the E.C.H.R. The case foresees those responsible for the deaths being identified and punished. According to a summons served to the Greek Cypriot administration, the E.C.H.R requests that alongside the 11 TC's who were on the Vanished Bus, the whereabouts of Mustafa Arif, Derviş Mehmet, Abdullah Emirzade, Hüseyin Ahmet, Hüseyin Mehmet Buba and Mustafa Osman Akay should also be looked into.
