Who needs your handouts when the TCs have 100 % of Erdogan! :)

If Erdogan gets handouts why shouldn't you?

It's a fair swap. Erdogan gives handouts and eroglu provides the handjobs.

Just saw Eroglu's proposals for power sharing. They include spearate sovereignty for each constituent state, the power of each to sign internatioanl agreements, the continued guarantees of BOTH states by Turkey, Greece and UK, and a proviso which really is cute: in the event of one state leaving the union it will not remove the satus of the other state.

I would love to hear Bananiot's interpretation of these proposals. No doubt there will be the usual "each new proposal is worse than the last one, it is our fault for not accepting the last one". To which the counter is that the new proposal shows us what the Eroglus had in mind when we were discussing the last one.

While we talk BBF and such bullshit they are really talking partition. IF partition is on the table then let us call it by its name and stop the crap about unitary states and federal structures. Negotiating partition openly and realistically puts a whole different slant on things and changes the international situation radically. Using the word reunification to disguise it obviously helps the invader.

Who is fooling who in this idiotic game anyway?

You have neither been to a single Arab country nor met any Arabs in person in your entire life liar south shitriot.

I have been to several Muslim countries and lived in one of them for some years. The Arabs regard the Turks as the cause of the demise of Arab civilisation. They fought against the Ottoman empire. They do not glorify the Ottoman days, they regard them as a time of colonial occupation in the same category as other such occupations.

Egypt had large resident communities of Greeks, Jews, Italians, Maltese, but not Turks. It is strange that after centuries of presence in Egypt and other countries no remnants of a Turkish community are to be found in any of them. Are you sure the Arabs like you?

And against this background Davut, the short man with the funny moustache, draws arbitrary lines on the map showing Turkey's future sphere of influence covering the countries from which the Turks were kicked out by rebellions of the local populations. Have you asked the Egyptians how they feel about this map? Their response might go something like "baarrah, ibn al kalb".

The acceptance of BBF, equal political status for both communities, rotating presidency, discounted GC vote for the election and legitimisation of the TC president, full one man one vote for the election of the GC president, retention of 50 000 settlers- all tabled before the commencement of the Christofias Eroglu talks. These all spell attempt to take over the hellenise the island?

We can bullshit each other as much as we like, the facts are that the GC community changed its goals and orientation way back. IT is the TCs who are stuck in a time warp to the point they are willing to erase themselves from the map to accomodate Turkey. The latest Eroglu proposals prove it. They do not use the term partition because they know that even the most naive observer will say "OK, but let us divide the territory equitably". And that is the last thing the Eroglus want.

The Greek communities of Egypt and other countries do not date from the ancient Greeks. Ask your Arab friends, if you have any, to tell you.

I lived in Egypt, where my mother's family had businesses, for some years. I know first hand the situation. Do you?
