Modern "Greeks" are Slavs!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Cap » Sat Jan 15, 2011 12:55 am

Erm.. according to the table 'R1a is considered the Slavic Haplogroup'
The Greeks are at 8.3%...

But then again why so much R1b from Western Europe? 22.8%

Anyways I'd like to take a DNA test, find out where my ancestors originated from... lol

If I've got any Sub Saharan haplogroups I'll commit suicide....

But Klik, you are saying this because you think you are Greek. Had you been Turkish you would be playing the same biased tune, just the same. Your type simply cannot think out of the box.

I'm pretty convinced by Klik's conclusion and from the evidence presented so far; that, Greeks went far and wide and left their traces in a lot of people. But, back home - it's a different matter! 8)

We are who we are and who we were.

Seed the world! :D

I am concerned with those who speak of pure blood, dna, and the like. It reminds me of Germany in the 1930s. There were no pure Greeks even in ancient times where a great empire Hellenized, civilized and assimilated half the world. The Byzantium Empire did the same with the Slavs ... it christianized and assimilated many Slavs making them Greeks. To this i say so what.

Every time you say that, I just come back and decimate you!

And this time will be no different because the article (which you obviously haven't read) concludes with...

"The modern Greeks would love to know they're descended from the ancient Greeks. But since 1500BC Greece has been invaded and occupied so many times I'm not sure we're going to get the answer they want."

Bananiot wrote:It is a well known fact that modern Greeks have nothing to do with ancient Greeks. You do not even have to look at their DNA to establish this. Just listen to them on the talk shows on Greek tv. They are more than barbaric in their manners and of course the corruption that exists since the establishment of the Greek nation in 1828 pays testament to the fact that these people have nothing in common with the ancients.

Look at all these misanthropists of the forum too. They claim to be direct descendants of Socrates but in reality they have always been miserable, xenophobic, racist retards. These are no attributes of the ancient Greeks, who elevated "Xenios Zeus" into the grand god that protected xenous (foreigners) from the sharp teeth of the oracles of this world.

A well known fact because people that existed 2,000 years apart behave differently? What a laughable argument. Ridiculous by even your standards. Do you have any idea how ancient Greeks actually behaved? Foreigners were seen as lesser people, "barbarians". Foreigners were not allowed to compete in the Olympic Games for instance. Women in Athens had very few rights, and corruption existed back then as it always has. Spartans were nothing if not barbaric. I could go on but I won't bother...

If anything, it’s the Greeks that were looked down upon by the E.Roman Byzantium who were the ones who coined the term “hellene” for Greeks which actually meant “pagan”!

What is well known is that you are always wrong. Plus you cant deny that Greeks of today speak the same language and inhabit the same lands as ancient Greeks did. So, GET OVER IT.

That's why you can't look at ONE marker in isolation! And, why I was explaining to GR! that if the "Slavs" were all one group and the Greeks were the same - then they would have been identical and not each marker at a different level across the groups.

Here's the distribution of one of its sub-groups - it's everywhere virtually!

Basically, we all pretty much crossed each other's paths getting here.
