Your comments are somehat confusing and I dont understand what your point is however neither the UN nor the EU have troops at their disposal to "kick butt" as you put it so you can forget that particular wet dream. There is however a genuine UN led peace process that if sucessfully concluded will enable the troops to go. However as the last UN effort was voted down by our GC friends led by the late lamented Tassos the omens are not particularly good so the troops will remain until such time as there agreement from both sides. The Cyprus issue predates EU entry which hasnt removed the problem despite what you may think. Simples.

Oracle: Yes actually I am a Cypriot. Not Turkish or Greek but Cypriot born and bred. Born in Cyprus of Cypriot parents,grandparents and great grandparents etc etc. Can you say the same or are you a Greek first? What gains are you talking about?
