TC Press reactions to Merkel visit

Turkish Cypriots Press reactions to Merkel visit ................

Daily Kibris using the headline, “Merkel’s fiasco”.
Kibrisli chose not to mince its words, heading the article with: “Nasty European.”
Vatan ran with “Look what unfounded thing she said”
Star Kibris “The German queen talked big”.
Haberdar spoke to a number of Turkish Cypriot politicians who voiced their anger, under the banner: “Why don’t you just shut up.”
Gunes ran with the simple yet effective: “Merkel bullshitted”.

Sorry Halil, but which EU country would know more about Turkey and Turks, than Germany?

she got reaction from TC's individuals too. By listening only one side views and to talk with their mouth angers the TC's public. They says nothing new with her, her views are well known , her onesided views are well known since she became party leader. her rascist views towards the Turkey or Turks are all well known..... What the TC public says about her why should we pay the revanges of the Markel toward the Turkey. We have been isaloted with her types from the world. If she thinks we can give up our struggle she is making big mistake on this one and TC's public hopes that she can come to her senses after the TC's reactions.

Yup ... She's another world leader who knows, first-hand, exactly what Turkish Minorities are like!

Troublesome, non-integrating Turks ...

why should she give credibility to an illegal regime, the problems within a country are none of her business. The Tc need to realize that continuing to keep themselves isolated doesnt help them it only helps to keep them on the sidelines and not relevant.

Merkel visit is no more than Geopolitics and with the growing threat of Turkey going east and not west, the continuation of EU (Germany and France) using Cyprus as a smoke screen to block its chapters. Germany would do whatever it could to block Turkey's-EU accession. The entire EU who is in financial crisis is weaker today than it was 7 years ago, while there is a country with a population of 75 million, geographical importance with mass amounts of energy, gas and oil pipelines (connecting Russia), your going to tell me EU would rather be standing behind 1 million people on an island? The Cyprus issue has become more a conflict between Turkey and forces that want to slow down Turkey’s growth than a clash between Turkish and Greek Cypriots. Hence Israel coming into the picture to give support to the south because it is concern of Turkey's east Mediterranean presence's.

So the T/C has all rights to be upset because Merkel did not even speak to any Turkish Cypriot officials and then she supports the ‘settlement’, if you don’t acknowledge the T/C officials then what ‘settlement’ do you support when you don’t even know who is on the other side of the fence.

She did acknowledge the other side. She said she would raise the Cyprus problem with the Turkish PM next time they meet. What are you talking about? :?
