OK, I'll play.

Ιn 1959 the island of Cyprus was still a British Colony.
The majority of the people wanted to unite the island with Greece. Consequently, it's safe to assume that they majority considered themselves Greek.

And...?

By the way, I'd like to ask you to drop the condescending tone. I don't care for it and all it has to offer is either get me to start a stupid and childish verbal fight, or to get me to stop responding to you.

An excellent in-depth analysis of how and why the 1960 agreements came about.

Of course, because EOKA is the law.

H Kypros Den Einai Elliniki.

Cyprus is not Greek.

Dear Yiannis,
Either you like it or not:
You have a Greek name!
Your mother language is Greek!
According to the constitution of 1960 (Cyprus became an independent country following that) you belong to the Greek national community of Cyprus!
Even the football team you say that you support APOEL means: Athlitikos Podosferikos Omilos ELLHNON Lefkosias (Athletic and Football Club of GREEKS in Nicosia)!

I really don’t understand what is going wrong with some of you guys....
(Maybe something in your DNA is going wrong!)

ManoWAR, my man, let me give you a piece of (totally) friendly advice: this particular discussion is going nowhere, give it up. Start reading stuff in here, instead of focusing on only letting people know of what you think.
Give it some time, maybe a week or two, and you'll see that a lot of the people in here are way more knowledgeable and (dare I say it?) smart than me and you. Try to listen to what they're saying, try to learn things, try to open up your mind. At least, if nothing else, you might learn a thing or two in the process.

That's what I do...

Because, you see, we don't know everything. The only real difference I see between you and me (besides our totally different obvious general outlook) is that you seem to think that you know everything there is to know. Well, this may come as a surprise, but you don't. All I'm saying is spend a little time reading the 'Cyprus Problem' forum; you might pick up interesting stuff.

I'm not being condescending, I meant to use as friendly a tone as possible.

after 1960 EOKA like TMT were nothing than gangs and terrorist groups killing civilians. How can you support such terrorists?

EOKA's activities after 1960 against the cypriot democrats has been condemned from the Hellenic Parliament.

But Jimmy, he's a 'true Greek patriot'... a son of Aristotle, Plato and Socrates... therefore he's the new oracle and we should all listen to his pronouncements...

Sorry, I must stop taking this mind-bending drugs.

my love for EOKA stop after 1960. i respected them for liberating their country. when EOKA started Grivas said his only aim was to liberate Cyprus. when the constitution was signed he moved to greece on the understanding that th ewar for freedom was over. throughout his book he said he would sta and fight until he died or cyprus was free. cyprus becae free. EOKA actions after 1960 were a group of thugs trying to steal another groups lime-light.
