More like in your general direction.....

NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) — Cypriot President Dimitris Christofias urged Turkey on Tuesday to give up what he called its gunboat diplomacy in the eastern Mediterranean and drop its opposition to the island nation's offshore exploration for gas deposits.

Christofias accused Turkey of hampering a Greek Cypriot search for gas off its southern shore with warplanes and navy ships. He said Turkey must stop acting like the "neighborhood policeman" if it wants to join the European Union.

"Neither Turkey, nor any other country, has the right to tell us . . . that we don't have the right to carry out this search," Christofias said after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the Cypriot capital, Nicosia. "This is absurd logic which unfortunately Turkey employs."

They can always try their luck and see what develops.

Why mince words? What is it that you are going to do? Ethnic cleanse the whole island this time?

Every country is responsible for their own actions if Turkey attacks and sinks GCs look for oil reserves then its up to those who have the balls to react, is that not right. You take your chances and accept the consequences.

Thanks for that honest response. But its a U.S. company, Noble, that has exploration rights over one of the blocks and i really do not think you would be so stupid as to attack them but your more than welcome to try. LOL

Attacking the project does not necessarily have to be done by the army the sheer threat can scare off companies and countries warn citizens not to enter into such dangerous explosive situations. More than one way to skin a cat.

I guess we shall see real soon if you're able to scare off this US company. I personally think you haven't a chance. :D

If the South Government is determined to find a solution to the Cyprus Problem don't you think we have enough on our plates to add another issue?
According UN resolution 1803 (XVII) "1. The right of peoples and nations to permanent sovereignty over their natural wealth and resources must be exercised in the interest of their national development and of the well-being of the people of the State concerned." So who are the people? Now if the 'state' without a settlement is only contributing to the wealth of South Cyprus does this not go against UN Resolution? There are two communities constituting to the 'whole of Cyprus' for self-determination.

What a dumb post!

UN resolution 1803 is pertaining to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons!

But anyway, shouldn't you be looking at the WHOLE SET of non-abided UN resolutions pertaining to Cyprus that are keeping this country in a mess?

Such as…

UN RESOLUTION 361 (1974)
http://www.un.int/cyprus/scr353.htm

UN RESOLUTION 541 (1983)
http://www.un.int/cyprus/scr541.htm

And your Government is as dumb who shakes hands with Israel who has gone against countless UN Resolution.

What does that mean? Why didnt you whine when Israel was Turkey's biggest ally not too long ago you hypocrite!? And why are you not whining now when your beloved leaders shake hands with war criminals like President Bashir of Sudan? Quit perpetuating the crimes of your father and evolve already. Northern Cyprus does not belong to you exclusively you thief. That is your so called state that YOU proclaim. We can share in our resources when you decide that you want a truly unified State. You cant have your breakaway state and think you can share in the natural wealth and resources of the RoC. wtf is that? Evolve already.

My concern is that if natural resources and wealth is shared amongst all Cypriots then no problems but if it will not be and the South will only enjoy the wealth then don't go making deals until a settlement is found. The more the South creates partnerships it makes the divide wider and partition the likely outcome and if anything instead of a federation a confederation will be adopted until the North is in balance with the South.

The UN resolutions calls for a FEDERATION and not CONFEDERATION, hence the BBF.!!!

I've racked my little brain about this and I can't think of a single good reason to bring the TCs in on any present and future finds by the RoC - except on humanitarian grounds.

Do the TCs have anything to offer? Because, the way things are developing, Cyprus-EU won't have to wait for you to return what you stole. It will be the RoC's for the taking.

So kick the TR army and the settlers back where they came join the ROC and lets share the resourses in the south. then make a deal with TR for the resourses in the north and benefit from that too.

     What a load of rubbish. Ask yourself first if there'd be any TC's left to alive to do this. How long do you think we would survive without the protection of the TA?

Piratis, GR, Oracle, B25, Sotos, RW, Boomerang, Papitis, Kifeas and thousands more are waiting for the "balance of power" to change. With the TA out of the equation means they achieve exactly that and that for us means total extermination.
