Yes BELIEVE IT - other extra curricular language courses have to be paid for. But, not a question of Brits being more hard up than you thought - more a case of Greek Govt being more spendthrift (or maybe desperate for more Greek Speakers in the world?) than you imagined they could be!

I wouldn't expect Cypriots to know about this (even the diaspora) because, of course, a GOOD Cypriot would send their kids to school in Cyprus (or Greece) wouldn't they?

Funny how you criticise those Cypriots that live in the UK while you live in Cyprus and have not said one good word for the country that hosts you in all the times I've ever bothered to read any of your posts. This is an aside from the actual discussion - but private schools are generally prohibitively expensive everywhere.

If you can't afford it or have something against the state system, perhaps, 'home tuition' - I would advocate it
