A small video I made with my friends when we went around Zygi for a day trip. It ends Amazingly with a rainbow :)

You should read the rules of the forum that state posts should be in English, that should be "Colourful day in Cyprus"!

it is in English and that U was just misspelled...
anyway just delete the post if that missing O is such a big issue.

Good video. :D (I watched it earlier with a cup of coffee.)

Ignore CBBB - he winds up the world.

Blame the KEOs.

I found this earlier, as well ...

The name Zygi was given to the village due to the fact that from here the locust-beans were exported and their producers brought them to be weighed (zygizo = weigh) and delivered them to the storehouses.

What great trivia ... :D

Not trivia Oracle. I remember the days we would take our carobs there for export. The pepple beaches were fun too. Womenfolk would ask us to bring home large pebble stones from the beach for cracking the Tzakistes/green olives.

Now they sell good fish in the many fish tavernas.

Zigi, close to Governor's Beach - fish tavernas with terraces sweeping down to the sea. Home to a not very well publicised 'campsite' consisting mainly of permanent Cypriot holiday homes and a tiny bit of 'camping' ground (but you don't get many of those in Cyprus), Governor's Kalymnos Beach Camping.

Surrounding area a bit bleak, but one of our favourite places for a good Sunday lunch - I have a very good friend who lives there and manages the Site. And we are going there tomorrow to see him!

I wish I could join you and your lovely daughter. I have areal taste for some red mullet with Cyprus chips - the best in the world - and a KEO to go with them. Have one on me too (as long as you are not driving)

Superfluosity! The "o" without the "u" is sufficient.  :D

@ Deniz, I thoroughly enjoy your recollections. :D

Cool video. I just bought a plot of land near the new marina. Going to build a summer escape from Limassol over there. Also interesting to know about the origin of the name. Does anyone know how the neighboring village of Psematismenos got it's name? Finally where I come from it's color! The Brits don't know how to spell.
