Forced down some disgusting Australian Red a (kind?) friend offered. :?

Conclusion - what is raised in the Southern hemisphere should STAY in the Southern hemisphere...

That's because your friends are cheap because Australian Reds are famed for being the best and most expensive in the world. A bottle of Grange is worth about 220 Euro.

Conclusion, whoever is a half cast, should shut up!

I'm enjoying a nice Greek Schnapps! :)

AUSTRALIA has won more international trophies than any other country at the Decanter World Wine Awards, taking the top gong in six of the 32 categories.

The 2013 winners were announced in London during a gala dinner at the Royal Opera House.

Wines from Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria, NSW and WA were victorious in categories across the board including red, white and sweet fortified.

"Australia's wine industry is blessed with many talented individuals," Decanter magazine awards chairman Steven Spurrier said in a statement.

"Here we see that hard work, on both small family-owned vineyards and at larger wineries, has kept the country at the top internationally."

The six Australian wines won in the categories are: Riesling over STG15 ($A25.74), Chardonnay over STG15, White Single-Varietal under STG15, Red Blend over STG15, Red Rhone Varietal over STG15 and Sweet Fortified under STG15.

I served Rosemount red to the women who attended my wife's birthday party the other day and they liked it.

Hate to say this but OZ wines are great, first class wines at very decent prices.

... and anyone who says otherwise must have Retsina for a brain.

...oh and anyone who says Ozzies are any good at cricket must have Vegemite for one.

I don't think you are going to defend the Ashes in Australia Billy boy. The Aussie Batsmen are in form and the selectors are having a tough time of it.

BTW, I am drinking a VB in support of the Aussie Cricket Team! :D
