Quattro, I agree about the leaders we do not have. We still lack established statesmen. I think Glafkos Klerides was the only real statesman that G. Cyprus produced. The point I was making was one of understanding realpolitik. Events happen not because others love or hate us. This is childish talk. Hence, we cannot blame the Americans or the Soviets for our predicament. If we suffered because of weak and myopic leadership, then this is what we should be saying, not shouting at the top of our voice that we have been done wrong by foreigners. Are we ready to expose even our sacred cows? If not, we can continue to lay the blame on the "others" and of course, we are free to make similar mistakes agian, since none of us will need to shoulder the blame.
