Silenus, I somehow I agree with you that any minerals would be for Cyprus a curse as much as a blessing. However, I do believe strongly that if the United Nations is truly that they will ensure that Turkey stays out of it. It has nothing to do with her what so ever. Do I believe that all Cypriots should reap the rewards? Yes I do. Do I believe that those Cypriots currently supporting the breakaway regime in the occupied Cyprus well no I don't think they deserve any benefits because any mineral findings below and outside the occupied territory's zone is not a mater for discussion for the occupiers.

The boundary of the field is much closer to Syria and Lebanon than it is to the occupied areas, unless of course Turkey is using its own version of "The Law of the Sea", as usual.

I agree with you: there is however no TC federated state, only the illegally occupied areas with a puppet pseudo government lacking any recognition but from the occupier.

Turkey will not give up her rights to any resources in the med. You just have to learn to share just like with the rest of the countries in the vicinity.

What exactly are her rights in the sea between Cyprus and Israel?

"You just have to learn to share just like with the rest of the countries in the vicinity."

WRONG! DEAD WRONG!!

The Law of the Sea is NOT about sharing, it is about dividing and owning. And in this case it favors everyone except the Turks. Geography and the law, agreed on by all countries of the world, are the deciders in this case.

why ROC is not starting to drill cyprus 10 area ?

Postby zvir » Sat Jan 08, 2011 2:29 pm

Noble energy was awarded the licence to drill there. the 3D survey looks great, noble energy is a US company backed by the administration.

anyway, that is much more sensible than to build a very expensive LNG facility.

Do not rely on anybody but yourselves.
