42 years ago I had a gf from Kars. She told me that there were a few ethnic Turks living in Kars. I did not argue with her. I did not know what a Kurd was. I only knew of 'mountain Turks' from Reşat Nuri Güntekin's Dağları Bekleyen Kız.
