1) I have always been happy to reconsider my position on the basis of aobjective eviddnce - I said as much some time back.
2) I have always condemned racism and have never agreed with Eugenics.
3) However as I understand it this particular study concentrated on the Greek Speaking Cypriot populace and makes little reference to the Turkish speaking Cypriots (by which I exclude the post 1974 settlers who are Turkish speaking Turks) so, unless I have mis-read it, it neither supports nor disproves any theory relating to the closer genetic links between the "GC" and "TC" on the one hand and with the so called mother lands on the other, where as the 1992 Study at least contained some comparative data, albeit probably limited (which does NOT appear to be discredited by this study).
Deniz's 1992 study was discredited for the small population sample of a pre-selected environmentally determined condition (thalassemia). We already know these markers converge over few generations.Plus a few more matters relating to the recent advancements in genetics (it's on the forum, but I don't have inclination to search tonight).
This present study (2009) is far more all-encompassing than appears after superficial evaluation as per Deniz.
Might dig up some more stuff tomorrow if you are still interested in supporting racism, But I have more to say that Humans are all genetically the same apart from their migratory differences and linked cultural stuff. I've posted tables with markers which are 100% different between TCs and GCs.
