VP if you have seen my responses to the violence that erupted recently with the football fiasco. I said that I by no means condone any violence and these hooligans should be fined and gaoled to get a sweet taste of what it means to loose ones freedoms even for a week.
I also stood up and shouted against the violence and was critical of it when it happened about a year ago, where TC cars were damaged etc.
Yet you also claim the south is safe for TCs???
As far as people claiming that Cyprus is Greek that s entirely their view and a disagree fully. I am one of those cypriots that says Cyprus is an independent Island Nation for Cypriot people and those it accepts on its land under proper immigration laws. It is a land where TC's GC's Maronites and Latins can live in peace sharing their unique cultural and lingustic differences.
You are the minority and thats what we fear.
I was with my parents the other day at their home when RIK News came on and we were discussing the spy tower near Mammari erected by your regime. Follwed by a program where some GC's were sharing their stories in living in mixed villages and how they got along with TC families.
Thats all water under the bridge and the togetherness which should have been encouraged by Makarios was smashed in 1963, we have all changed and can no longer go back to the way it was that's why the majority of TCs want and need a BBF with political equality.
To that we had agreed that the right thing for Christofias to do now is to rebuild TC villages in the free area and offer owners to move back in. We have agreed that at this stage with the situation that is .... the rebuild should be for home owner occupiers and no other reason. I know you have a differing view. I accept that. But I also know that we are in war and we are not about to make our enemies rich on our expense.
To little to late, the majority of TCs would never go back they do not trust Gcs the recent events justify their mistrust and fear for their safety. I do not know the south and no longer consider it my country as all I know is the TRNC I would sell everything my family has in the south if I was given the right to so but that is being denied, there are many like me and increasing as new generations arrive.
The most fundamental point in my conversation here is that .... we have some football hooligans going around bashing people where as the injustice enforced on a group of defenceless people in Karpasia is perpetuated by the TC leadership and their gutless spineless character to prevent a Christmas service for a couple of hundred people if that. To this end I blame the TC leadership solely. And if you are afraid of Turkey to say NO to such an atrocity then you need to start thinking about the society you wanna be part of. And I will not accept your argument of following the hand that feeds you. because the hand that feeds you also feeds you with disrespect of human rights, hatred, inequality and misery.
The negative events in the south would stirred bad feeling of the past would you still want these people to go to church in the north if you knew their lives were in danger or they would be threatened by a mob of 500+ in retaliation for the GCs actions???? I would never want to put them in that dangerous position.
