Songbirds slaughtered at Dhekelia

Postby Free Spirit » Fri Dec 24, 2010 9:21 pm

Cypriots have slaughtered millions of songbirds at Dhekelia SBA that are all of protected species.
They get away with this because the SBA Police at the base are corrupt Greek Cypriots who take bribes from the hunters

When the SBA authorities take stiff action against illegal trapping of song-birds, they are pilloried.

When the SBA authorities do not take action against illegal trapping of song-birds they are pilloried

If however there is real evidence of corruption in the SBA police please bring it out into the open - after all we do not want the SBA Police to have its share pf people like Lallas, or those who were letting Kitas climb in and oout of hospital, etc.

It looks like your Magnificent 7 compatriots are either the greatest bribe beneficiaries, or the most incompetent leadership on the planet!

"The Service has a current establishment of 256 officers, comprising seven Senior British Officers, with the remainder of the force being recruited exclusively from the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities in accordance with the Treaty of Establishment. 12.80% of the Service are women. The police are supported by 18 civilian staff. The Police workload is affected significantly by large numbers of holidaymakers, over 10,000 daily on the most popular tourist beaches at the height of the season, and by substantial through-traffic, there being no controlled borders between the SBAs and the Republic."

That's right - try to blame the Brits, who are sensitively policing so as not to disturb local sensitivities about trapping and eating small birds:
The Cypriot Police don't have the benefit of any British Officers they can blame: the inefficiencies and any corruptions are all home grown
