"Towards an Israeli-Turkish War."

“If related companies would attempt to search for natural gas in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) marine space, based on the agreement with Greek Cypriots, they will find Turkish navy against themselves. If Israel would attempt to extract natural gas in this sensitive area, and be unfair against Turkish Cypriots, like it has been doing so in Palestine and Lebanon, a new war in eastern Mediterranean Sea will be inevitable”, he said.

I really don't Turkey would mess with Israel. They would show the rag heads who's boss just like they have done throughout the middle east.

Egypt monitoring Israel-Cyprus maritime border deal
By JPOST.COM STAFF
12/25/2010 12:31

Egypt is closely monitoring the recent accord signed between Israel and Cyprus demarcating their maritime borders, in order to ensure that the accord does not affect Egypt's economic zone in the Mediterranean, Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm reported quoting Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Hossam Zaki.

The agreement, signed two weeks ago, aims to facilitate a search for mineral deposits in the east Mediterranean. Huge natural gas reserves have been discovered in the area.

Zaki said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry is conducting technical and legal research to ensure that the borders specified under the accord do not infringe on Egyptian maritime territory.

This quote from the article points to the Turkish "what is mine is mine, and what is yours is also mine" mentality:

"Turkey's Foreign Ministry stated that Turkish Cypriots have also rights and jurisdiction over the maritime areas of Cyprus Island."

So the TCs have exclusive possession of the north, from where they expelled GCs and "nationalised" their land, but they also claim a share in any resources discovered in the south.

It is when such attitudes are exhibited that the most diplomatic response is a clear and unequivocal "fuck off".

I am looking forward to the day when the Turkish navy will challenge an American or Israeli company pumping oil in the area. Note that Turkey is not only disputing the EEZ of Cyprus, but ALL delimitations of the area, including those of Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. And as is clear by now, ALL the above nations have flushed Turkish objections down the toilet. So much for the regional super power theory.

Israel urges 800 Turkish workers to leave country

06 January 2011, Thursday

A total of 800 Turkish workers employed in Israel by a Turkish firm are having tough days as Israel urged them to leave the country by the end of this month.

Israeli call came after a disagreement between Turkish and Israeli governments who have not renewed a part of an offset agreement for modernization of Turkish tanks. This part involves Turkish construction firm Yılmazlar.

Israeli authorities sent a notice to Yılmazlar on January 4 and urged its 800 workers, who have been working in Israel since 2002, to leave the country by January 31.

Yılmazlar, operating in Israel for more than 15 years, said it informed Turkish government about their ordeal and called on Turkish government to deal with the problem.

"Thousands of Israeli firms are operating in Turkey without facing any problems. We expect Turkish government to step in," Yılmazlar said in a statement on Thursday.

Yılmazlar is carrying out several construction projects in Israel, including two hospital buildings, a shopping mall which will be the largest in the Middle East, a skyscraper, a bridge and thousands of homes. Total size of these projects is worth hundreds of millions of USD.

Ahmet Arik, top executive of Yılmazlar in Israel, said the company could face multi-million compensation in case of a suspension of projects when its workers are forced to leave Israel.

Yılmazlar is one of the top three construction firms in Israel. Total size of its operations in Israel over the past 15 years is worth more than 1.5 billion USD.

You need to read all about it properly - Israel has nothing to be proud of regarding 'migrant workers'

I'm not interested in whether the Israelis have won any "Employer of the Year" awards.

And I don't see how your (decade-old?) googlefart relates to the recent article of Turkish workers working for a Turkish company; who are none too pleased to be given their marching orders - back to Turkey where conditions must be much better.

Sounds like you and your friends are the ones to be concerned if the Israelis are slave-drivers - since you keep informing us of how much they are investing in the "TRNC".
