And now this arch hypocrite is giving his blessing to his young savage dogs of war by calling the Turks “barbarians and criminals” Deliberately he incites racial hatred and promotes religious war...... For nine years, longer than both world wars he has been responsible for every drop of blood that has been shed on this wretched island. He has been responsible for the corruption of youth, the uncontrolled violence of EOKA thugs and the murder of innocent.”

What he said before the bloody Noel was an indication of the things to come. “Until this small community forming a part of the Turkish race, which has been the terrible enemy of Hellenism is expelled from Cyprus the duty of the heroes of EOKA can never be considered as terminated”
