GR why are you doing this? you are making stuff up I thought was below you. You made the quotes up where as I did not, that really makes the GCs side look awful (please everyone check via your search engines) I thought you would do better. In Fact when I posted the quotes that I did, I half thought you may pull me up - and point me to corrections but you did not - I guess what I quoted was correct then?

Searching the Internet (GR's favourite preoccupation) will not reveal the truth as to what happened in December 1963 and why it happened. Numerous books have been written on this and by now it is almost clear that Makarios brought about the bloodshed with his nationalist agenda to get rid of the bicommunal nature of the London-Zurich agreements and to prepare the ground for union of Cyprus with Greece.

TMT was the nationalist organisation within the TC community and it only gain in strength after we started murdering innocent TC's at random.

It is clear that there was a Turkish plot to render the government of Cyprus unable to function by forcing the TCs to abuse their veto, an act of war and treason by anyones definition - this is why the UN readily approved the amendments to the RoC constitution and why TCs who tried to bring peace or engage with GCs had to either flee (primarily to the UK) or were butchered by Denktash and the TMT.

The 1960 constitution was a GC-led coalition with the TCs, with the TCs being granted a veto. Instead of acting responsibly with this privilege, the TCs allowed the Turks to get them to attempt to bring about the collapse of the RoC.
