It looks like you lost the game and you got beat up!

Good match I was there...skid mark is exaggerating a little though. Few bottles thrown was pretty much it by some f...king idiots.

It looks like we have a liar on the forum. Few bottles thrown and that's it??? south cyprus leader Christofias condemns the attack and calls these south shitriots 'brainless hooligans'. If Christofias says dt is a brainless hooligan, then I'll have to agree with him.

Communist-rooted Dimitris Christofias, himself a Greek Cypriot, criticized fans of right-wing APOEL for launching the postgame attack after APOEL beat the Turkish side 82-80 in Tuesday night's EuroChallenge Group G game in the island's capital.

"We played a Turkish team, we even won, and some so-called fans, brainless hooligans, had to attack them because they were a Turkish team," Christofias said, adding that the violence created "serious problems" for the government and "provided fuel to Turkish propaganda."

The incident occurred amid ongoing talks between Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu to reunify the island.

No Pinar Karsiyaka members were injured during the melee that started after the final whistle when APOEL fans threw coins and cigarette lighters at the Turkish team, police spokesman Michalis Katsounotos said.

Katsounotos said police prevented a group of APOEL fans from charging the Turkish team's locker room, while tear gas was used to disperse about 500 stone-throwing fans outside the stadium. Three 15-year-olds were arrested while five police officers suffered minor injuries.

They threw them money and cigarette lighters? Sounds very generous. Ooops, I meant dangerous. :D

They should’ve beaten the crap out of the Turkish dogs before the match even started!

Turks should not be allowed to participate in anything European before they abide by UN resolutions…

And yet again the majority of GCs continue to try and excuse our worst nightmare and confirmation that we are never safe amongst GCs.

i'm sorry, but why is a cypriot team playing basketball with a team from a country illegally occupying a third of its territory?

Chump or not skidmark makes a point.

The President of Cyprus was angered in that he had to turn down the Turkish govt request for the team to travel to the occupied territory. He hates turning things down these days for some reason. Although his response to Talat (they woke the poor sod up last night) was "comrade I'm afraid that these things can't happen because we have a state over here."

Now the game observer had informed Apoel that the report would state that these hooligans were out of order however at no time were any players at risk. The penalty will be heavy against Apoel but he wondered why the Turkish teams reaction changed overnight when back in Smyrni and things became grossly over dramatised.

The Turks I'm afraid have brought this on themselves with their behaviour against anorthosis and Apoel fans in trabzon. You cannot provoke, endanger and threaten people and then not expect their own fanatics to take you to task next time you visit.

Tit for tat I'm afraid.
