Here is some more evidence of actions from Greek Cypriot fanatics against another Turkish team, in a different instance.

These Greek Cypriot fanatics disguised themselves as fanatic Turks, infiltrated Turkey by the thousands, and attempted to defame the peace-loving Turkish nation by attacking in a similar way an Israeli basketball team, while been there to play against a Turkish team.

i don't think the apoel fanatics got that close. from what i've been led to understand they were just throwing missiles, coins, lighters etc. from a distance.

btw, cypriots (from the north or the south) are versed in greek, having been schooled in the modern variety from an early age. so runny brain's 'barbaric' term is incorrect as we all know that it refers to anyone unable to speak greek.

fucking animal, still excusing this shit.

 i wouldn't come anywhere near u.

Why dont you condemn these animals, obviously you are not different.

i called them 'fanatics' 'cos that's what they are: 'wild/excessive/extreme/irratational/unreasonable/zealous'.

u called all cypriots 'fucking animals'.

so who needs to be condemned?

these GC fanatics thats real big of you....fucking animals they are a reflection of your revenge seeking society.

Tell us how you feel about the Turdish fans attacking the Israeli players?? Did the Turds think it was 1936 again??? That is the last pogrom those brave people had against the Jewish community in Turdland or do they also avoid teaching you about that you fascist fucking piglet.

And while we have tit for tat there will never be a settlement, except permanent partition.

True, but if you notice the way our Turkish friends here are responding is because they're a little shocked.

This is the way Turkish fans have been behaving for decades, the fact that some lunatics had the balls to do it to one of their own teams is beyond belief for them.

People like vp never bat an eye lid when besiktas or galatasary fans kill or hurt people, whTs amazing to them is that there are hooligans out there just as crazy, and whats worse they demonstrated this on one of their own teams.

If Cyprus sport is being spectator-violent in general, then something needs to be done to curb it or else international sporting organizations will impose bans on Cypriot teams and supporters playing other countries.

What are you chirping about you silly turkey? Where were your worthless 2 cents when these incidents occurred recently?

I am not sure why a Cypriot team accepted to play with a Turkish team on OUR lands given their government violates OUR human rights.

Very simple humanist. Every time the Turks arrive in Larnaca in an official capacity arranged by their govt sports body they recognise the Republic of Cyprus. Every time their teams stand to attention to the flag and anthem of Cyprus before the game they recognise the govt and state of Cyprus.

Every time our teams go over and the Turks are forced to have the Cyprus flag flying in Turkish stadiums they recognise the State of Cyprus. If they don't they'll be banned from international sports.

And to answer my favourite carpetbagger's question about why the Turkish team wasn't allowed to cross over to the occupied areas, their penalty would have been imposed by FIBA. The visiting team is always to follow the hosts instructions on where to stay and schedule. Should a team deviate from this and add on the fact that they'd be accused of leaving the host country illegally then it's life time ban land for them.
