21st December 1963

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

[quote="denizaksulu"]An anniversary I cannot forget. Was it the beginning of the end of Cyprus as we knew it? Culminating in the split that occured in 1974 after the coup instigated by those that hated a united Cyprus. Where are we now? Are we closer to a solution? Time is surely running out.

Time is surely running out.-Question :for whom? the occupator or the victim?

Turks -you have only one way out. Either became democratic people or the hell (ppillaph not available) is your future. Just read Woarld's history.There is no way out if you continue to consider that a Greek populated Island must say "YES SIR" to an invator in all respects - either his name is T/c or Turk.

You know in Greek Nation we had Efialtis -he was Greek./But finally his made a hole in the water-like our today's leadership is going to do.

The disaster is front of you - the history has not ended in 1974- This was just an Efialtis time. The Greeks (nothing to do with the Greek state) are always coming later ....when you will see the real light...

The intercommunal strife started in April 1956 in Agios Vasilios, Kyrenia. I think I wrote about this. On 26 May 1956, the homes of about ten families living in Ashia were burnt to the ground and all TC's left the village for good. During the same night, scores of TC homes were burnt in Afania and a TC was killed in the process. These events are well documented in a new book that will soon be released by Kyriakos Tziampazis, from Afania.

Deniz, what does zeki mean? From your response it must mean something.

It means 'intelligent'. Derived from Arabic, 'Zeka' = Intelligence (human)
Zeki = one who is intelligent. :lol: A nice name.

How interesting that 'intelligence' is derived from Arabic rather than Turkish.

Bananiot, I think you are playing a game of 'who started it first'. Do you not think the above (May 1956) is connected to the Σεπτεμβριανά;

Aside from the first invasion by ottomans, the most recent history of hailing false flag operations to incite inter-communal problems in Cyprus, can be pinpointed, by unbiased sources, to at least the Constantinople Pogrom (Σεπτεμβριανά) of 6–7 September 1955 when the Greek minority was attacked.

I already gave to Bananiot the facts about those events. Bananiot (as always) didn't say the whole truth about that event.

The whole truth is that 7 Greek Cypriots were shot and injured by TCs the day before. One of the injured was the priest of the village. This is what caused the reaction by the GCs.

The TC killed was not some unsuspecting villager, but a policeman of the British forces. Also 3 Greek Cypriots were murdered in Assia in those events, something which again Bananiot failed to mention in his story.

Thankyou, Piratis. You are doing such a good job at keeping a clear record of these events. I did not see the whole story and only saw what Bananiot mentioned.
