How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby supporttheunderdog » Sun Dec 26, 2010 8:30 pm

Those who wanted and continue to want either Enosis or Takism at any time since 1960 are traitors to the Republic of Cyprus. IMHO

Enosis and Taksim are not equally valid concepts.

We have been granted Enosis (with Greece) under the auspices of the European Union - European Enosis! :D The State of Cyprus, and the State of Greece are the Hellenic Nation States of the EU.

Taksim is, and always was, an illegal act of vandalism by a foreign invader.

Then let us 'Librate' together equally :) both (G/C & T/C) to have a voice for the future of Cyprus as one.

I don't think the RoC would have a problem with the TCs helping the Liberation of Cyprus from Turkey. But the last time TCs had a chance to liberate Cyprus from the Colonialist Brits, they sided against GCs to create what we have now. What makes you think the TCs would fight against Turkey (which they consider closer) if they did not fight against the Brits?

I will not get involve in arguing why T/C joined the British Police Force that will be another topic we can discuss. So to answer your question, I am ready to librate Cyprus anytime with my citizen brothers and sisters in the South. But will only do so if you agree on these terms

because I don't want to fight liberation if I get zero at the end. I can't answer for all T/C would they fight against Turkey but the average conversation around a BBQ does not revolve around 'I love Turkey Being Here' but yet at the same time they are our bloodline and security as much as we want to scream and shout.

You are not ready for Liberation if you are harking back to 'communities' sharing 50:50 at the expense of individuals. Your conditional demands for a privileged position are in conflict with Liberalism and a free Democracy for individual human beings. You are too close to Turkey. Such imperialist/fascistic conditions are anachronistic here in Cyprus. We fought against fascism in 1974. You did not help us then either.

Such mentality belongs in "Turkey". You should go back for your own and our (EU) peace.

50:50 Power Sharing is a much better deal than 100% one sided and this is why liberalism is never going to be achieved in your mind Cyprus is Greek Island, to have liberal democracy individual and equal rights must be in power of the people. So how can T/C fight together for liberation if G/C can not comprehend that T/C are also apart of Cyprus? Don't turn a blind eye on the South because as much as you accuse the North being too close to Turkey the same can be said with the South with Greece. Every UN resolution, isolation, EU accession is a fabrication of Greek and G/C politics working together to enforce on T/C.

No my "new TC" friend. It's not the "South" which is with Greece, but the WHOLE island state is part of the Hellenic Nation. The natives of Cyprus have always been regarded as Greek by all the invaders including, latterly, the Otto-Turks and Brits.

If you fight for Liberation of Cyprus, you do so to retain its Cypriotness and not to Turkify it with your Ottoman '50% ruling classes' shit. We are here to protect all the minorities of Cyprus not just the recent newcomer Turks from 1571 or the "TCs" from 1960 or the "new TCs" from 2010 ...

Hey guys and gals....
Talking sense to Piratis and Co will not work...What we need to do is talk in their language...Here it is...

Cyprus has been Ottoman/Turkish since 1571...It will always remain Ottoman/Turkish...or these days Neo-Ottoman/Turkish...37% is liberated from Greek occupation, the rest is waiting to be liberated at the earliest opportunity...There,from now on we speak their language...

...indeed if we can return it to the "village-state"; Cypriots remain (close to their tax dollars) close to sustaining themselves and their communitys' relationship in isolation; it could be idyllic, given a Cypriot's closeness to land, and village. (hint, hint: Bizonal)

this is the crux, mobility, the Modern Age, and now I need to remind you an advent, the Information Age; i don't mean to bust balls, but i came from a (spit on the ground) "mixed village" (that's neighbours for more than 150 years). maybe amongst Cypriots TC and GC we identified each other as signs of respect, a common knowledge of each others commemoration and custom. but, what do i know, i am neither "Greek" or "Turkish", and I do not come from a "Greek" or "Turkish" village. i do not consider myself different to anyone else who chooses to be loving, open-minded, and proud of a belonging; here we are all labelled and numbered.

...imagine my summer nights in a village with so much culture.

before the cynicism, it was a wonderful ideal: to be Cypriot, a Greek or a Turk and a Maronite, Armenian, Rome, as well as Jew, and others, beyond the radio and a battery, refrigerators, running water, cars, as well as donkeys and camels, cities to visit, an end to our individual isolation, visiting the extent of the island was possible without too much effort, hitch hiking at sixteen, it was mind opening how different it can be, how beautiful, how interesting, geography and what people do, and how nothing was different, in a spiritual sense because everywhere everyone loved each other all the same.

...we can all be here to protect minority rights, particularly within National Assemblies, if each as a majority are equal, meeting the same criteria set by a State which is Sovereign, granting them Charter because it defends the Individual Rights of all Citizens equally, without National distinctions: this is Bicommunal.

three or more governing bodies, and not one less, as such, only a Greek constituent state is missing, to free our Federal Government from any National bias.

Very few support enosis today. Just like you have many Slavic states or many Arabic states, you also have two Hellenic States, Greece and Cyprus.

It was not our choice to be separate states but something that foreign invaders forced on us. (so if anybody complaints why Greece and Cyprus always support each other and exchange 12 points in Eurovision, you have the British and the Turks to blame for this, not us ;) )

The majority of our population maintained its identity for 1000s of years under far worst conditions under various foreign rulers, so I think the foreign invaders should understand that while they can use force to occupy the whole or parts of our island, no amount of force will ever succeed in changing the identity of Cyprus and its people.
